We have a unique opportunity for a passionate individual to join our non-fatal overdose outreach service and take a leading role in reducing drug related harm throughout Perth and Kinross. You will work together with the Service Manager to establish this service in Perth. We are looking for a self-starter, able to use your own initiative and confidently forge new relationships between Positive Steps and other statutory and third sector organisations.
You will be supported by our small Dundee based outreach team, participating in weekly team meetings and shared training opportunities. You will provide real time, person-centred interventions to individuals who have had a recent overdose, or who are deemed to be at high risk of one. You will work in partnership with a variety of agencies including Police and NHS to assertively respond to individuals identified through a daily non-fatal overdose review meeting.
You will also conduct opportunistic outreach to homeless hostels, community drop-ins, and public begging sites. You will offer tailored harm reduction advice, naloxone training, and help individuals to access appropriate sources of longer term support.
