Finance Assistant (Job Description)

 

An opportunity has arisen for a Finance Assistant to join our small but busy Finance Department.   The ideal candidate will have previous purchase ledger experience, with knowledge of Sage 50 Accounts being an advantage.   This post requires an accurate manner and the ability to meet deadlines as well as good numeracy and communication skills.  You will be confident with Excel and Word.

The successful candidate will be instrumental in the smooth running of the department, and in addition to assisting the Finance Manager with all monthly and annual reports and accounts, will have responsibility for the following areas:-

 

  • Processing of supplier invoices/credit notes etc., including payments
  • Query resolution from suppliers
  • Processing of payment requests using BACS, cheque or cash  
  • Raising of journals at month end and assisting with month end reporting 
  • Maintenance of rent ledger and assisting with all housing finance e.g. service charges, recharge repairs, etc.
  • Ad hoc duties as requested by management

 

Positive Steps has support and accommodation projects as well as a business development programme, the successful candidate will also be required to assist in these areas when required.
