11 Aug Welfare Reform: Benefits are Changing

MSPs have formally protested against changes to the UK benefits system, marking the first time the Scottish Parliament has refused Westminster legislative consent.
One of the main proposals in the UK government’s Welfare Reform Bill is to replace Disability Living Allowance with a ‘Personal Independence Payment ’ and replacing a range of other benefits (including child tax credit, working tax credit, housing benefit and income support) with a single universal credit.
