Positive Steps Housing Support Service is a Care Inspectorate registered service delivering support to adults locally, regardless of housing tenure. We have a reputation for delivering a quality service. Among the first services developed by us, it has a history of working with some of the most disadvantaged people in our communities. Frequently, these are people other agencies struggle to engage with.
In many ways, it is the foundation of the organisation, with subsequent projects growing from the understanding developed while delivering this service.
The service is holistic and personalised in its delivery with a focus on outcomes. The people it supports are at the centre of the provision and are involved in both the planning and the delivery of their support. It is their plan and recognises the strengths and aspirations of the person.
As well as the practical skills necessary to manage a tenancy, the service also offers support in other key areas. Individual outcomes are evaluated using an online tool that provides specific feedback to service users, as well as information for staff, management, and other stakeholders.
If you are struggling to manage to live in your own home, you might think that you just need some help to overcome your immediate problems. If this is the case, you may benefit from our housing support service.
If you choose to use our service for support you will be allocated a project worker who will provide you with detailed information about Positive Steps, the background to our service and your rights and responsibilities.
Your project worker will also work with you to identify your support needs and agree with you how you can work together to overcome any barriers and achieve your goals
Normally people are referred to us from an appropriate agency such as social work, a housing department, homeless hostels, and housing associations. However, we also accept self-referrals from either someone who feels that they need Housing Support or from a family member or friend.
